Biography
Thomas E. Robinson II (Tom) Professor School of Communications Brigham Young University Background: From Phoenix, Arizona but has lived in Indianapolis and Muncie, IN, Las Vegas, NV, Hattiesburg, MS and Dallas, TX. Served a mission in the Oregon Portland Mission. Has a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.A. in Communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a B.S. in Marketing from Northern Arizona University. Professional Interests: Teaches advertising and specializes in advertising principles, advertising campaigns. Media buying and planning, account planning, advertising strategy and advertising research. Primary research centers on the portrayal of older individuals in advertising and the media. Additional research interests include advertising and the Internet, effects theories in advertising, and sports advertising. He has been published in the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Educational Gerontology, Family Practice Management, Ageing and Society, The Journal of Aging Studies, The International Journal of Aging and Human Development, Advertising Education, Communication Education, Journal of Magazine and New Media Research, and Body Image: An International Journal of Research. Other: Spends most of his free time with his beautiful wife of 31 years Theresa and their three children, Meagan, Trey, and Charlie. Loves to play racquetball and is desperately trying to get his golf handicap below 10.
