Biography

Dr. Winters received her bachelor’s degree from BYU and her PhD in School Psychology from Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, she specialized in providing services to English Language Learners and their families. Dr. Winters completed her internship and post-doctoral training at a residential school for underprivileged children, where she provided counseling, assessment, consultation, and crisis intervention services. She joined the School Psychology program at BYU in August 2021.

Research Interests

Childhood trauma, resilience, social and emotional learning, emotional and behavioral disorders, and school-based supports for diverse children.

Teaching Interests

Consultation and collaboration in the schools, crisis intervention, social-emotional assessment and intervention, and self-care practices for educators.
