Biography
Miles Romney is an award-winning sports journalist turned academic. He earned a BA from Brigham Young University (2005) and worked as a sports producer, reporter, anchor, sideline reporter (college football, Arena League), and talk radio host. He helped produce live sporting events such as NBA basketball, arena football, college football, high school sports, and the Tour of Utah cycling event. Miles completed a master’s degree in Professional Communication at Westminster College (2012) and a doctorate degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University (2016). Miles began his academic career teaching in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of South Carolina. In 2017, he returned to Brigham Young University.
Research Interests
His research interests focus primarily on national sports networks; specifically, how they frame news and information for audiences on traditional media as well as on social and digital platforms.Education
